Christmas Goose

Just a quick update on how the Goose is getting on with the Christmas tree.

Magic Mushrooms

I've given up waiting for her to be better, it's apparntly not going to happen until she's 18 or something and in the meantime, she's rapidly growing out of some of my favourite 6-9 months clothes.

Like these lovely Marks and Spencer's dungerees with mushrooms, flowers and mice on them and which were a present from her Great Auntie Janet (in that I bought them with the giftcard she sent her).

She's worn these lots of times, although very few were captured on camera and now she's getting so long they're turning into shorts I though we better get them photographed shaprpish, poorly or not.

  You can see her nose is still a bit red and her eyes are a bit puffy, but she's still playing happily, trying to eat the power cord to the computer and standing up whilst holding on the fire guard.

Anyway, you can't really see the detail on the dungerees while she's all crumpled up (roll on the day when she can stand for these pictures) but in the meantime, here are a few of the details for your viewing enjoyment.

Yes, she may have had to sit on the floor in her vest while I borrowed her dungrees for these pictures but at least I put the fan heater on.

Standing, Clicking and STILL Not Updating Properly

We're almost better (and ready to break out the 9-12 month clothes) so we'll work on pictures this weekend.  In the meantime, another video.  Look who's learnt to stand up!

Please note, fleecy jumper from Next (via Taunton's NCT Sale) and crazy Jedward style hair.  Also note 3 old ladies thought she was a boy in Tesco due to her being dressed in blue, flowers and pink hood aside!

Not Exactly an Update

No new pictures due to repeated and cyclical  ill health.  Continuing to be alive is pretty much all I can be be bothered with right now but to keep Auntie Anna on side, I have 6 minutes of video excitement to share.

Halloween Chic

I know it's all but Bonfire Night now, but we've all been a bit poorly round here (again) so the taking and editing of suitable Halloween pictures has been somewhat delayed.  I've managed it (although I suspect it may be the only thing I do) today though so now I need another lie down.


You'll have to let me off if I don't have many words today, let alone any interesting/witty/insightful/relevant ones so I'll just let you look at the pictures.

Just to say, our total outlay on slightly frivolous Halloween costumes has been a total of £2.50 as the witchy dress was already reduced in Tesco by 5pm on the 31st and the pumpkin top came from Sainsbury's this time last year. 

Marmalade Sandwiches All Round

Today we said goodbye to our much loved, but ultimately neglected (and un-baby-car-seat-friendly), VW camper van Jaffa.  She's gone to a good home not to far from here where hopefully she'll get all the welding and bodywork she needs to carry on for another 37 years. 

So we decided to take pictures of today's outfit in Jaffa, partly to record how old the Goose was when we sold her but mostly so we didn't have to get the camera out twice in one day.

Now you may question the practicality of white tights near a muddy/rusty old van, you might even question the practicality of white tights on a baby (or anyone else) at all but in fact they did quite well and made it all the way to the end of the day without looking too grubby.

You'll see that her lovely dress (which I bought from the 2nd hand baby clothes shop in Cullompton) has Paddington Bear on the front, thus bringing together my slightly tenuous Jaffa/marmalade theme.

Caterpillar's Last Stand

This is pretty much my favourite outfit she's ever had.

Sadly, both and it and the matching vest and legging are 3-6 months size and at a week shy of 8 months old, they're starting to strain at the seams.  So we have to face the unhappy truth that's she's really growing out of it.

I'm very sad to see it go, so we thought we should see it out and in style with a little stroll to a muddy riverbank on a sunny October afternoon.  The Goose took the opportunity to shove as many stones and moulding leaves into her mouth as she could and I took the opportunity to take as many pictures as I could, in between pulling bits of riverbank out of her beak.

So long hungry caterpillar, it's been nice wearing you.
